In this Blog we will show you how iLogix Computer Solutions perform charge port removals on Nintendo Switch through a USB Port removal technique on a Nintendo Switch, remember read the disclaimer at the top as it is not as easy as it looks, evidently.
First thing to do is apply flux and leaded solder to the legs of the port. This will lower the melting temperature of the factory solder making it easy to remove the port.

We then take a hot air soldering station and put the airflow right up.
Apply hot air moving the airflow around the back of the port being sure to focus on the legs at first.
As the solder starts to turn to liquid just let the port drop out. DO NOT push or apply pressure, just let the solder liquify and the weight of the port do the rest.
Next apply more flux and using solder wick remove the solder from the pads and anchor holes. Clean up with some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) and job done.
Done, now we need to solder a new port on and test it, but we will do that in another blog.
