Apple do not like the idea of device repair businesses, like iLogix Computer Solutions, performing iPhone repairs. We can offer repairs that the Apple Store will not. At iLogix Computer Solutions our motto is "saving the planet one repair at a time" which means we avoid the replace culture and use the repair culture in its place.
A lot of iPhone components have pairings meaning that certain components will work if they are paired to a specific logic board, if you swap them out for an aftermarket part they don't work properly. In many cases this does make a lot of sense, for example on older models the home button was paired with the logic board for security reasons to prevent someone trying to circumvent the security of the Touch ID.
In the case of iPhone 11 Screen Repairs there is a touch IC on the screen that the device reads and if it is missing you will receive a non genuine part warning.
The Touch IC is soldered to the back of the screen. The component is a ball grid array chip which we need to desolder with a hot air stations and solder onto our replacement screen.
The microphone, proximity sensor and dot projector need to be moved from the old iPhone 11 screen to the new screen.
We also need to backup the True Tone data from the broken screen and transfer it to the new one. For this we use a programmer that is specially designed for this.
At this stage we have the genuine Apple Touch IC and the True Tone data restored from the old to the new screen. All we need to do now is reassmble the phone.
Start by placing a gasket around the case, this will help bond the screen and also help prevent liquid getting inside the case. The blue plastic is pealed off leaving the gasket in place.
We then connect our new screen.
It's another fix.
